With over 76 years of life experience and a passion for woodworking, I’ve spent decades collecting, restoring, and working with antique hand tools, mostly hand planes . I'm an Army Vet. (1967-1969) and married with 2 children. I'm also a avid gardener. I have a degree in Forestry from S.I.U. although I only worked in the industry for 6 weeks. I'm retired from the coal mines and also the Post Office. I live in Southern Illinois near Carbondale. I love to hunt and fish. I live on 30 with a 9 acre strip mine lake in front of the house. My work shop includes a Delta Unisaw , a Grizzley 17" band saw and a DeWalt 735 planer. I have many hand planes including a very nice Stanley #2 type 7
Up for sale is a nice set of early Stanley 45 combination plane cutters. These are the no notch cutters that came in the sets for types 1-4. These are 3 3/4" long when not sharpened down. The original box is really cool as it has a little latch on each end to hold the lid on. It also has a couple little staples on each side that has some extra knickers. This set comes with 15 cutters counting the 1/4" dado cutter. The dado cutter has the Stanley patent date stamped on it Feb.19 84. There appears to be a couple empty spaces in the box and as near as I can tell the set is missing the 1" plow cutter and the 1/2" bead cutter. Look at the pictures.
