Stanley Yankee Handyman push drill

Very useful for small holes, fun design.

I'm including a modern-made set of 7 bits, but they do not fit precisely (pictured). It's possible that the tangs may be slightly too long to fit. They work for drilling, but they will come out of the chuck with minimal effort when withdrawing the bit from the work. I used them for a time until I obtained the period correct bits.

Update: I compared one of these bits to one of the vintage ones I have, and as I suspected, the half round part at the base of the bit is longer on the modern ones being sold here. I think you could probably grind them down and they would fit perfectly. I am not expert enough in dealing with hardened metal to try it myself, though!
