Antique Stanley Bailey No. 2 smoothing plane with Stanley Sweetheart SW cutter. Very early style but I could not definitively assign it a “type” description. Plane is being sold in as-found, unrestored condition. It shows substantial age and use, including surface rust/oxidation, tool marks, loss of japanning, scratches, staining and finish wear to the wooden knob and tote. Please review all photographs carefully for condition and originality. Includes the components shown in the photographs, including the Sweetheart-marked cutter, chipbreaker, lever cap, frog, lateral adjustment mechanism, brass depth adjuster, tote and front knob. I have intentionally not wire-wheeled, sanded, repainted or refinished the plane. It retains its aged patina and is being offered for restoration, collection or use. Please examine photos closely—sold exactly as pictured.
