Retired Archaeologist now working for city of Lexington Engineering Dept. Have done carpenter and woodworking for a long time, just switched over to hand tools several years ago. But now my health has changed, I have no kids and if Gods will, I will be retiring and moving to Philippines in 2028. So I am slowly selling off tools (and other things) that I know I will not be hauling across the world.
Dunlap Block Plane, Made by Sargent for Sears. The BL stamp was used up to the mid 1940's, then switched over to 619.xxxx. Dunlap was discontinued by the mid 1950's maybe late 50's.
I think the Sargent planes are good tools, I was going to keep this one myself, but I have another that is older, plus a few Craftsman. I do not even use block planes...
be a great plane to tune up and add to your tool kit.
I used to buy large lots/collections of tools, take out what I wanted and sell what I did not need/want. I need to clear out a bunch of tools due to as soon as I get my health straightened out we may be retiring and moving to the Philippines by 2028. If my health don't straighten out, then well I need to get rid of stuff anyway..
