Retired Archaeologist now working for city of Lexington Engineering Dept. Have done carpenter and woodworking for a long time, just switched over to hand tools several years ago. But now my health has changed, I have no kids and if Gods will, I will be retiring and moving to Philippines in 2028. So I am slowly selling off tools (and other things) that I know I will not be hauling across the world.
Dunlap Jack Plane #5 sized made by Millers Falls late 1930's early 40's for Sears
Iron and cheek have BB stamped on them, BB was used from 1937 to about 1943 to ID the makers of planes for Sears, BB was assigned to Millers Falls.
The lever cap resembles the type used during the late 1930's to early 40's also from what I can find online.
Needs restored, I do not see any cracks, there is a deep scratch near the mouth, but the won't hurt the use of the plane. The tote is broken, but should be easy to glue back with no issues.
This plane is from my "I am going to keep this one" shelf, I wanted at one time to have a set of each of the brands that Sears sold over the years, plus I prefer the Millers Falls planes over the Stanley's, other then the Stanley tote, I do like them better LOL...
My health is having issues, if I get it straightened out soon, we are planning to retire to the Philippines in 2028, I am not taking a lot of my tools, so they are going up for sale a few at a time.
