This is a fine Geo. H. Bishop & Co. No. 89 vintage handsaw featuring an ornate handle carved from rosewood, and high-grade spring steel. The blade has 8 tpi and the company name, logo and model are engraved on the blade. This saw has the “flying bishop medallion” on the handle embossed with “Warranted Superior”. Overall dimensions are 23 ¼” L x 6” H x 1” thick, and 20” blade. Manufactured in Cincinnati, OH between 1882–1899. Bishop saws are widely regarded by tool collectors as high quality, on par with prominent makers like Disston and Atkins. Model No. 89 is a sought-after collectible piece due to its fine craftsmanship and detailed embellishments.
